Supporting Veterans and Service Dogs
DOGS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE...
At UBM we provide service dogs to veterans in need. Here are four ways we help veterans with our service dogs:
Our service dogs are trained to assist veterans with mobility issues, including picking up dropped items, opening doors, and even turning on/off lights. These tasks help veterans gain more independence and improve their quality of life.
Veterans with PTSD and other mental health conditions can benefit from the calming presence of a service dog. Our dogs are trained to detect signs of anxiety and provide comfort to their handlers, helping them feel more secure and relaxed.
Many veterans with service dogs report feeling more comfortable and confident in public settings, allowing them to engage in activities they may have avoided before. UBM's service dogs are excellent conversation starters, helping to break down barriers and promote socialization.
Service dogs provide unconditional love and companionship to their handlers, which can be especially important for veterans who may feel isolated or disconnected from others. Our dogs become lifelong friends and companions to their veteran handlers.
